Genohm visits BGI, Beijing Genomics Institute, in Shenzhen

Lausanne (Switzerland), 01.11.2017: Genohm announces that Frederik Decouttere, the CEO of the company, is guest at the Headquarters of BGI, the former Beijing Genomic Institute, in Shenzhen, China.

BGI, the former Beijing Genomic Institute, is one of the leading genome sequencing centers in the world. It’s headquarters are in Shenzhen, China. They were created in 1999 in order to participate to the Human Genome Project as China’s representative. 18 years later, its development and achievements have been amazing at human, animal and plant level. Frederik Decouttere, CEO of Genohm, has been invited by BGI to visit the Headquarters in Shenzhen, to present SLims, the LIMS + ELN platform developed by the company and discuss about the future of genomics. Frederik was welcomed by Shuang Yang, the CEO of BGI, and has met with him and Xin Jin, Yanping Wang and Duncan Yu, COO (picture 1). He subsequently met with Jian Wang, the President of BGI, who is an avid mountaineer who in 2010 climbed to the summit of Mount Everest (picture 2).

During his trip to China, Frederik is accompanied by Lan Zuo Gillet, the Deputy Managing Director of the EPFL Innovation Park and Program Director of the CTI Training program.
