Spectra QEST announces that Hanson, one of Australia’s leading suppliers of heavy building materials, has successfully implemented the Spectra QEST’s QESTLab and QESTField in its laboratories

(PRWEB) JULY 24, 2015

Hanson is utilizing Spectra QEST’s technologies in both its concrete and quarry testing facilities. It is the first Australian concrete producer to implement QESTField.

The implementation of Spectra QEST’s one integrated Laboratory Information Management System, QESTLab, has replaced the two separate systems that Hanson had previously been using in its daily operations. QESTLab has been specifically designed for use in the construction materials testing and geotechnical testing industries. The system takes care of all of Hanson’s concrete, aggregate, soil and asphalt testing software requirements. It is used to manage the laboratory operations as well as database and analyze test results and concrete production data.

By combining QESTLab with QESTField, Hanson is able to optimize its standardization and efficiency gains by realizing the same benefits in the field as in the laboratory. QESTField provides field technicians and inspectors with access to QESTLab in real-time, providing them with electronic access to the latest laboratory information and work orders and providing laboratory staff with instant access to field data.

Spectra QEST Executive Director, Technology, Dirk Janek said, “We are excited to be working with Hanson, a company that we view as a leader in the use of information technology in the construction materials industry. Their willingness to innovate is again evident in the decision to be the first Australian concrete producer to replace paper dependant processes on the construction site with QESTField, enabling real time capture of field sampling and test data.”
