Computational biologists take over Asgard – May Edition

May 22 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm UTC-4

Talk Computational Biology at the Asgard!

May 22nd at 5:30 your friends at BCBB will be catching up over beers and free food in the two back private rooms of the Asgard. Come and join your colleagues for a night of comp bio shop talk and networking (and free food).

Sal Mazza from PacBio has generously provided us with a wide selection of free pub food for the event. Sal will be around to chat/geek out about PacBio's long-read sequencing technology at the event. He'll also have information about applying for PacBio's grant program to fund your project.

All computational biologists and bioinformaticians are welcome regardless of skill level, from lifelong hardcore Bayesian modelers to people who are starting to think about learning just enough programming to make science go faster. See old friends, mentors, students, and make new connections while sharing tales of comp bio triumph and woe over Asgard's wide selection of beers and pub food.

* About PacBio

Sequence with Confidence.

PacBio long-read sequencing provides the most comprehensive view of genomes, transcriptomes, and epigenomes to enable access to the full spectrum of genetic variation. PacBio Systems are powered by Single Molecule, Real-Time (SMRT®) Sequencing technology featuring the single-molecule resolution, superior accuracy, long reads, and uniform coverage necessary to advance scientific discovery.

Introducing the Sequel II System and the HiFi Difference:
The PacBio Sequel II System provides the advantages of SMRT Sequencing with ~8-times the data making it more affordable for all scientists to drive discovery with comprehensive views of genomes and transcriptomes. You no longer have to choose between high accuracy and long read lengths. With HiFi reads, powered by the CCS method, you get highly accurate long-read sequencing data you can trust.

Attend the Meetup to learn more and to apply for our SMRT Grant Program for your chance to win a PacBio project.
