“The purpose of this requirement is to study the effects of various design parameters on the physical and chemical characteristics of aerosols from [Electronic Nicotine Delivery Systems (ENDS)] and other newly deemed products.”

“… FDA is seeking services by testing laboratories that may include analysis of the engineering of e-cigarettes, the composition of e-liquids and e-cigarette aerosols, method validation studies, or other projects that FDA needs to effectively regulate e-cigarettes and e-liquids.

FDA will provide all samples for testing, specify storage conditions, and set specific timelines for the samples to be analyzed. The laboratory shall be ISO 17025-accredited and have advanced, modern day techniques to modify and analyze e-cigarette engineering characteristics.”
