"The Cumberland County Department of Public Health has 219 employees and three satellite offices throughout the County. The Cumberland County Department of Public Health Laboratory is a Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA) certified moderate complexity laboratory. The laboratory is enrolled in a proficiency program through the American Proficiency Institute in which all lab staff participates quarterly."
"The current Laboratory Information System (LIS) is Merge LIS version 3.9.1, which is a product of Merge Healthcare, Inc. The system runs on a MySQL database with a Microsoft Windows XP Operating System. The system currently resides on a Dell Desktop OptiPlex 760 with an Intel Core Duo 2 processor within the main medical lab. There are currently four analyzers: Siemens Clinitek Status, Alere Cholestech LDX, DCA Vantage, and Beckman Coulter AC T diff2 that resides in the main medical lab. Additionally, there is a Siemens Clinitek Status analyzer in the Child Health clinic. The main medical lab along with the Family Planning clinic utilizes the
Hemocue Glucose 201 machine. Currently, those analyzers are not interfaced with Merge, but it is a mandatory requirement for the new LIS system to interface with them and any other future analyzers and/or other equipment."
"For the replacement system, it is a mandatory requirement to import the last five years of historical data. Furthermore, the new LIS system must interface with the Electronic Health Record system (i.e. Insight, EPIC, CureMD, Patagonia, GE Centricity, etc.)"
