"Whether you work in Hematology, Microbiology or are a Generalist you could come across microbes in primary blood smears. Detecting microbes in primary blood is usually a critical value and should trigger additional actions. This webinar will be a review of the most common microbes you could encounter and their diagnostic features. We will discuss clinical factors that could support your diagnosis, limitations to this type of identification, and additional testing that may be recommended. Whether you report these identifications in your facility or refer to other facilities, the ability to recognize microbes in primary blood smears is critical for good patient care.
A certificate of participation will be granted to each participant based on 1.0 contact hours of instruction toward credit."

Clinical development organizations across life sciences have common challenges associated with aging and siloed technologies, changing trial paradigms, and ability to easily access and leverage clinical data assets. As demand for increased efficiency and access to data increase, the historic approach to building solutions within individual clinical development functions continues to create significant issues. This is further compounded by the increase in the number of vendors and partners involved in the process, the variety and volume of clinical data used in analyses, and limited capabilities to leverage emerging technologies. These factors hinder the ability to rapidly analyze clinical and real world data to drive insights and outcomes and bring medicines to patients faster.
Aligning sponsors and stakeholders on a strategy and vision for the future is critical to the transformation and provides strategic direction to the development of the strategy as well as downstream IT portfolio decision making. Ideally, the strategy should enable a data-centric platform-based strategy, ensure core and emerging capabilities are supported through modern technologies and architectures, and deliver a flexible and agile roadmap that drives value based on business priorities.

"During the pandemic, many labs implemented and validated Waters Empower CDS to gain efficiencies and increase remote work capability. Unfortunately, harmonization of processes got deferred until the “next phase” and only the functionality needed immediately was implemented. Some even purchased the vendor validation documentation and consider the system validated.
If any of that sounds familiar to your lab, now is the time for your Empower CDS validation’s 'next phase' to make sure it is complete and compliant.
In one hour, you will learn how to assess the current state of your Empower CDS implementation and validation and plan for your 'next phase'."
"atient Blood Management (PBM) as defined by the Society for the Advancement of Blood Management refers to “the timely application of evidence-based medical and surgical concepts designed to maintain hemoglobin concentration, optimize hemostasis and minimize blood loss in an effort to improve patient outcome”.
Although the World Health Organization endorsed PBM in 2010, many hospitals still seek guidance with the implementation of PBM in clinical routine which goes beyond blood transfusion.
A review of the literature demonstrates that the role of the clinical laboratory in the multidisciplinary concept of PBM is underrepresented.
The speaker will explore the important role of the clinical laboratory and how it can impact each of the PBM pillars: from detecting anemia and iron deficiency to reducing blood loss."
"Legalization of medical and recreational cannabis and hemp has led to an expansion of potency testing needs. Routine testing workflows are now benefiting from the addition of an increasing number of minor and niche cannabinoids to keep up with the diverse range of cultivars and formulations reaching the market. While five primary cannabinoids, Δ9-THC, CBD, THCA, CBDA and CBN are the most common and abundant, new indications are continuously being explored with dozens of other cannabinoids.
In addition, the increasing demands on testing laboratories has created the need for a fast, efficient and accurate quantification method for an increasing number of cannabinoids. In this webinar we will show practical chromatographic separations of 18 cannabinoids with flexibility across HPLC and UHPLC platforms in a simple, isocratic workflow. Potency testing requiring sensitivity and specificity beyond standard workflows will also be discussed.
Attend this webinar to learn about all key aspects of potency analysis ..."
