Excuse me Scariest for who? Maybe for the icecream maker next to your door. Shodan can be very useful while conducting a VA or PT a particular network or host, as banner grabbing is a major step in these operations.

Everything is dangerous in Cyber Security, even those tools who makes you feel it's worth for you..Only difference is it is in whose hands Hacker or Ethical Hacker....
