Cassidy Daniels, I think that most labs today use MS Office to manage most of their data. Commercial testing labs typically will use a LIMS as there is very little choice to do otherwise because of volume and quality assurance requirements. Research is a market where LIMS are not that common. MS Office pretty well rules that environment from my observations.

Karen Darbinyan That's great, are you using a traditional LIMS or has your lab tried a cloud-based system?

Asif Khan Our LIMS has typically been used for testing labs so far. As a company, we are looking to see what kind of labs use what sort of data management systems. So as of now I'm just interested in hearing different perspectives from different people

You will want to download this book which has a list of the most popular LIMS products along with their pricing: https://www.limsforum.com/wiki_book/the-complete-guide-to-lims-laboratory-informatics-summer-2017-edition/

It also has a lot of educational information in the book regarding LIMS. We should have the Winter 2018 edition coming out this quarter.
