Summary

Description
English: Small neon lamp, type NE-2, 1.9 cm (0.75 in) long, powered by DC. It consists of a glass bulb containing neon gas at low pressure, with two wire electrodes in it. When the voltage across the lamp exceeds about 70 volts the gas ionizes and the lamp turns on. The glow discharge which is responsible for the light output comes from the cathode (negative) electrode on the left.
