While that IP's comment about how the Kents should have named the young Kal-El "Jack" doesn't have much to do with improving the article, I have to admit it was funny. If he had asked it more seriously, the answer is hinted at in the movie when Jonathan Kent calls his wife by her full name, "Martha Clark Kent". Clark was thus named for his mother's maiden name, which was not at all unusual at one time in this country. I remember thinking at the time, though, that they kind of screwed up the point, thanks to peculiar editing that jumped from one camera to another just as he was saying "Martha Clark Kent". ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 22:08, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The film article doesn't directly explain it, although it is mentioned in some of the spinoff articles, including Clark Kent and Jonathan and Martha Kent. Maybe it should be mentioned in the film article? A simple way to do it would be to simply present Ma Kent's name as "Martha Clark Kent" instead of just "Martha Kent"? ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 22:24, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not arguing for overtly explaining it in the article. I'm just saying, list her name as "Martha Clark Kent", as it was stated in the film. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 22:32, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it was stated in the film. That's what I was talking about in my first entry above. Before the moment where the truck slips off its jack-stand, and Kal-El catches the truck and lifts it before it can harm Jonathan, Ma and Pa Kent are having a discussion about what to do with this young'un that they just found in the wreckage of the Kryptonian spacecraft. Ma is kind of staring off into the distance, and Pa says, "Martha Clark Kent, are you listening to what I'm saying?" ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 22:37, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Go to about 2:30 of this clip:[1]Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 22:48, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I would like for you to see if you notice the poorly-timed camera cut that occurs between "Martha" and "Clark". ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 22:50, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
That movie had a lot of quick-cut edits, but that one was a little too quick. I went ahead and added Martha's maiden name, and we'll see if anyone yelps. :) ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 23:01, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Request for comment

This is a neutral request for comments concerning List of The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes episodes. The micro-series was recently changed from this to this. I would like your opinion on what is best presentation of this information as well if the episodes should be listed by the order they were aired or by the order they were produced. I noticed that you made some contributions to the discussion earlier, and I would very much appreciate some more input. The discussion became quite messy, so I thought it best to take it from the top, because frankly, at least some of my points need some attention. --ProfessorKilroy (talk) 08:36, 23 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Main Page appearance

Hello! This is a note to let the main editors of the article List of X-Men video games know that it will be appearing as the main page featured list on December 2, 2013. You can view the TFL blurb at Wikipedia:Today's featured list/December 2, 2013. If you think it is necessary to change the main date, you can request it with the featured list directors Giants2008 (talk · contribs), Crisco 1492 (talk · contribs) or SchroCat (talk · contribs), or at Wikipedia talk:Today's featured list. If the previous blurb needs tweaking, you might change it—following the instructions of the suggested formatting. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page so Wikipedia doesn't look bad. Thanks! © Tbhotch (en-2.5). 23:09, 1 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited The Spectacular Spider-Man (TV series), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Carnage (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Notice

The file File:Supergirlsoundtrack.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free album cover being used in a decorative manner in Supergirl (1984 film)#Soundtrack. Non-free album cover art is generally allowed to be used for primary identification purposes in stand-alone articles about albums, but its use in other articles is generally only allowed when the cover art itself is the subject of sourced critical commentary as explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-3 and the context for non-free use required by WP:NFCC#8 is evident. There is no such commentary for this particular album cover anywhere in the article, and the use of soundtrack album cover art in articles about films or TV programs is generally not allowed for this reason as explained in WP:FILMSCORE.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:05, 18 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Release date on I Am Mine

Please do not use AllMusic as a source for release dates. Everything in the sidebar is user-generated, and dates are no exception. I highly encourage you to find a stronger source. Meanwhile, you are also inexplicably changing the radio date in the release history table. You have done this twice now, which leads me to suspect you aren't even checking the given source. Please stop doing that, as you are introducing incorrect information by saying the song was sent to radio in October, not September, as the source states. Add a new entry for the physical format(s) instead of replacing the radio date. ResPM (T🔈🎵C) 11:09, 17 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
