Because chemical engineering covers such a vast range and is actually an abstract (we design processes, other people make the objects which operate the processes) I have some difficulty in thinking what would be suitable. I've added refs to the relevant articles, showing that Adamiecki was indeed the originator of an idea. It just goes to underline that if you don't publish in English (or at least German or French), you might as well not bother... I believe you are confusing priority with cause. The Michał Kalecki page is also special pleading rather than NPOV. What tends to happen is that at a certain stage in culture, different people have similar ideas because they are looking at the same problem. Do your reference books specifically state how Henry Gantt got to hear of Adamiecki's unpublished work and then stole it? If so, it is legitimate to say the Gantt chart is a modified Harmonogram. If they just assert it or note it was around earlier, then it is a slander on Gantt. I was about to write (based on the Marsh article which I have) what the harmonogram was and how it was superior, but I don't think I'll bother now. (And why does the Polish Wikipedia not have a decent article on the harmonogram?)Chemical Engineer (talk) 20:46, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You can read the linked book excerpts yourself (I have provided Google Book links to specific pages) and decide whether they support this formulation (as I believe they do). I have used English sources, I could look for some Polish ones that may go into the details (and I have not bothered with Google Scholar yet, but I can, if you want me to). Why is Polish Wiki worse? Well, it has fewer editors to work on it. PS. I have c/e the articles; it is indeed not correct to imply any form of plagiarism with the refs at hand. What they do support is that Adamiecki invented the idea but did not popularize it in the West. It is not clear whether Gantt knew of Adamiecki's work or not (it would be interesting to go to his publications and look whether he mentions Adamiecki anywhere), but he popularized it and it is attributed to him.--_{Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk} 20:49, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Don't agree. They indicate independent invention on the pages you cite. Only the first reference (is the author by any chance of Polish origin?) in any way asserts they are the same, but does not give a reason on the page you cite. I stand by my statement that (for the purposes of an encylopedia entry) the most which can be confidently said is that the Harmonogram is similar to the Gantt chart.Chemical Engineer (talk) 21:15, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop removing this image. Your nuisance edits are tantamount to vandalism. Please consider before doing so that placing the photograph on the right hand side, in general text would upset the page layout. If you prefer it in the box of images at the bottom then please move it there, rather then remove it altogeter. You have placed a picture of Street Lane as the main image of a section marked "History". It has no particular relevance and provides no added value to the section. I appreciate your enthusiasm for North Leeds, but think you are being impolite to call my edits nuisance and vandalism.

While I would agree with you that the church is a historical building, surely it has to be linked in for a reason. If you prefer the picture elsewhere there is a gallery at the bottom. Considering Street Lane is Roundhay's main street, and besides the park and mansion, the shops on it are probably its best known buildings, a photograph of them is surely required to enhance the article. Ideally the photograph would be put on the right under the info box, but this would disorientate the layout (as is a problem with many pages). The picture could be moved to the top and placed on the left, alternatively it could be put in the info box and the park picture tied in with the park section. Hi Chemical Engineer! The Old Malvernians/alumnae section that you contributed to in Malvern College finally got so long that it had to be split off into a separate list page. In doing so, it's been found that for many of those noble people there is no actual proof that they ever went to the school. However, they probably did, and the entries were made in good faith. Nevertheless, the rules require everything in the encyclopedia to be verifiably sourced. It would be great therefore, if you could take a look at the list and help out if you can with providing some references. The misguided editor who moved the article to a "correct" title did the same for a Dublin hospital St James's Hospital. I'd like to WP:AGF, but that requires that we assume a stubborn refusal to recognise that all previous editors to the articles were getting it right! Hi, with regard to this deletion, you might be misunderstanding the extent of the {{alumni}} template. This is not just a question of notability but also whether these people really are verifiable as alumni. The blue linked articles may or may not be for the right person intended, their associated citations and article titles may change over time and so currently or in the future they might have no references that confirm whether they are an alumnus. See the guidance of WP:NLIST and the essay at User:Fæ/Alumni. Unless there is a clear rationale as to why this article might be an exception I propose the template is re-added with its original date. Thank you for ‘reducing’ my opinion statements.

1. Would you consider re-inserting the word ‘rare’. Two of the surnames in question were ‘Sacret’ and ‘Honeybone’. I suggest that both these names are unquestionably rare; and that their selection by Rudkin must have been deliberate, thereby justifying the use of the word ‘rare’. What do you think?

2. "Coe (OE c1972-1979) has said that he has set out to geographically identify Birmingham as a specific place, something which he claims is never done in English literature for places other than London". The Images of England web site is to be decommissioned this month by Historic England. The text of the site entries has been available on the corresponding National Heritage List entry since that web site was created. The images are being transferred ahead of the decommissioning. As a result of this a BOT has changed all {{IoE}} templates to {{NHLE}} templates and translated the reference number according to a list provided by Historic England.

It would be good if members could check these, when they come across them, as I have spotted one with an incorrect translation. Some articles already had {{NHLE}} templates in them so the references may need to be combined. Other changes that may need to be performed are removal of template or text referring to the site as needing registration, changing the text "Images of England" or "IoE" to something more appropriate or may be even removing it if it is part of the description..

Hi - I don't want to come across as an aggressive or heavy-handed deletionist here (and since I see you are a fellow Wikiproject Yorkshire member, I don't want you to come over to York and biff me on the nose), but there's no easy way to say this: the creation of that article wasn't OK. You're autopatrolled, which means that the community trusts you to create articles that don't need to be reviewed by New Page Patrol. The article mentioned above has no supporting independent, secondary sources, just an entry on an exhaustive database of registered UK charities, and the charity's own website. That's not on for someone with your advanced permissions: please be more careful. Anything you create needs to be have enough independent, secondary and reliable sources to demonstrate notability.
