Hello. The article is a start, but on Wikipedia, the intent is to write articles from a neutral point of view. At present, there are a number of issues in the article. The wording right now extremely promotional. The Manual of Style, linked above, is a great resource for article writing guidelines. I would especially recommending having a read of WP:NPOV, which provides some advice on writing articles from a neutral point of view. Besides the POV issue, the article is missing proper references. References are not just listed at the bottom, but should be inline cited where applicable. The manual of style will guide you through this. I would highly recommend gathering sources from newspapers (the Express does not keep their articles online for very long, I suggest the Guardian and Newsday be the first choices). Note sources must be reliable. I know this may be seem daunting, but it really isn't going to take too much to get this article up to standards. As well, it is entirely possible to further expand the article. The key points to remember are:

Try and keep article formatting similar to others if they are in a series. Look at other related articles for tips on how to format. As with any article, cite reliable sources for any facts in the article. Ideally, they should be indepent sources (not just what the pageant or contestant says about themselves, which is often promotional). Also, independent coverage is a good indicator of notability, which helps justify inclusion in the encyclopedia.

Remember, there are a lot of resources to help editing on Wikipedia, there are many people willing to help new editors. Good luck! --  R45  talk! 15:16, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image without license

Unspecified source/license for Image:Gabbytnt11.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Gabbytnt11.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (Talk • Contribs • Owner) 17:34, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Image:N509814794 538348 8579.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement [www.lizbiz.com]. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:N509814794 538348 8579.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion of Samantha Rochard

A tag has been placed on Samantha Rochard requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. LAAFansign review 02:32, 6 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Marsha Bhagwansingh

A tag has been placed on Marsha Bhagwansingh requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. WWGB (talk) 02:39, 6 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image permission problem with Image:Gabbymain1.jpg

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Gabbymain1.jpg, which you've sourced to Wyatt Gallery. I noticed that that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the image to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the image has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the image's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Images lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. dave pape (talk) 03:10, 6 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:N516531769 1160554 7454.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 12:06, 26 November 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Peripitus (Talk) 12:06, 26 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Image:Mkay.jpg

The Real World: Las Vegas (2011)

Hi. Please do not add unsourced material to articles, as you did with these edits to The Real World: Las Vegas (2011). Wikipedia requires that all material added to articles be accompanied by reliable, verifiable sources explicitly cited in the text in the form of an inline citation, which you can learn to make here. Material lacking these sources is not permitted. Thanks. :-) Nightscream (talk) 02:56, 4 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Ian. Welcome to Wikipedia! I'd be more than happy to assist with articles you have an interest in. I added the Press Herald source to the Real World article. The Vevmo source was already in there. I did not add the Facebook page, because personal pages on social networking sites can be difficult to verify as belonging to the actual person in question.
Regarding an article for Adam, the most important policy I can refer you to is that on notability, in particular, Biographical Notability. A person is not considered notable solely for appearing on a season of a reality television show. It is for this reason that many attempts to create articles on such persons usually result in those articles becoming redirects to the article on that TV show in question. This will likely be the outcome, for example, for the Jamie Murray (The Real World) article (as seen here), and is why I've turned the Adam Royer article into a redirect to the Real World: New Orleans (2011) article. I'm sorry if this disappoints you or frustrates you; It's a long-standing and widely-held consensus among Wikipedians regarding reality television show alumni, and you can verify this by asking others.
Also, are you related to Adam? If so, you should be made aware that it is generally unwise to create articles about someone you know well personally, as this is considered a Conflict of interest. Letting other editors know about sources, as you did on my Talk Page, is perfectly fine, as is removing things like vandalism or unsourced defamatory content, but other than that, creating or editing articles about friends or family members is heavily frowned upon.
Lastly, make sure to sign your talk page posts. You can do this by typing four tildes (~~~~) at the end them, which will also automatically time stamp them. Thanks, and don't hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions or need for assistance! :-) Nightscream (talk) 01:37, 5 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No prob. I'd be more than happy to help you with learning the ins and outs of editing. Is there anything that you can't ask me here on Wikipedia? If so, you can email me by using hte "Email this user" link in the left hand sidebar of my user page or talk page.
As far as the name with which he is identified, we are required to include only material that appears in the reliable, verifiable sources that we can explicitly cite in the article. Including material based not on those sources, but on personal knowledge, or personal interpretation or synthesis, is called Original Research, which is not permitted. In a nutshell, these are the relevant policies (and are among the most important, "core" policies on Wikipedia), which you should read up on if you're interested in learning about them:
  • Verifiability - Readers need to be able to verify the material. This is why we include the source that it comes from, so that they can do so. Stuff that is so obvious and widely known like "Christmas falls on December 25" doesn't need to be sourced, but everything else does.
  • Reliable sources - The writer/creator of the source, as well as its publisher, should have some established credibility in the field in question. Anyone can create a personal blog, post a message on a web forum, or contribute to a wiki, which is why those sources (personal blogs, imdb, other wikis, etc.) are not considered reliable.
  • No Original Research - As aforementioned, we can't use our personal knowledge as a source, since there's no way for a reader to verify the credentials a Wikipedia editor, most of whom are essentially anonymous.
  • Citing Sources - The source has be explicitly cited in the form of an inline citation, which you can learn to make at the linked policy page. There's also an entire page of citation templates for different types of source (web, book, magazine, movie, TV show, newspaper, magazine, etc.) here.
  • Simplified ruleset - The most fundamental rules on Wikipedia, including the ones I've mentioned, are here, so this would be another good starting point.
As far as Adam's name, since all other RW articles give the cast members' full names in the box on the left, but will refer by the name they're more commonly known as in the bio section on the right. For example, in the Paris article, Chris "C.T." Tamburello is identified by that full name, but called CT in the bio section on the right. If Adam is referred to as such on the show when it airs and in future sources that are published, than that will be reflected in the article. Nightscream (talk) 00:49, 7 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
