WWTO

re: WWTO and WLPD-CD edits. Sorry, no such linkable citation exists. I have personally tuned and mapped all the channels. This is not the sort of thing that would generally have a citation available. 104.3.217.165 (talk) 05:15, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a national change, I wonder if other TBN stations are affected. I also would suggest you write to RabbitEars to get that listing fixed. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 06:45, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

KBHK

I linked to scanned images of Bay Area TV schedules from the first week of October, 1989. How many other sources do you need? I'm currently working on scanning Mercury News schedules from the '90s and should have the scans uploaded to Archive.org in the next few weeks. 98.234.13.133 (talk) 22:08, 17 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You might want to ask @Sammi Brie: if you need help. Also, your edits could use some work. Mvcg66b3r (talk) 22:11, 17 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there! I looked at what you added, and it doesn't really mesh. A reference to a schedule just isn't enough for inclusion. If the syndicated shows were described in published articles as helping ratings, we'd have a different story. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 22:41, 17 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The correct procedure for dealing with questionably sourced claims is to add a "possibly contains original research" tag at the top of the article or "citation needed" tags after the individual disputed claims, and then give interested readers a few weeks to accumulate sources. Correct procedure is NOT to indiscriminately delete half of the article! 98.234.13.133 (talk) 01:06, 18 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

WILX-TV and articles like it

There are certain cases like WILX-TV in which I through-write the news operation and history sections, essentially integrating news into history.

I will do this where...

  • The station had multiple different attempts at news (e.g. KDAF). If the station currently has news, the News operation section should only cover the current incarnation of news.
  • There is insufficient material on the news operation alone, particularly for a small-market station (e.g. KIDY). In some cases, this is because news history may bolster the recent non-news history, which otherwise would be insubstantial.
  • There is a very strong correlation between changes in station history and news department changes (e.g. WYOU, WLFL). WILX falls in this category. An article may be considered for this if I feel like I would be saying the same historical facts twice.
  • There is some other good reason to vary the structure of the article (e.g. the level-2 headers of WWJ-TV reflect the WGPR/WWJ time divide).

KJCT-LD to KJCT-LP?

I know it's not related to the CBS Eye-Removal thing, but I don't understand the KJCT-LD —> KJCT-LP change. Like even though the FCC recognizes the call sign is KJCT-LP, it's a digital station. I don't really know what the FCC was thinking when they forgot the fact KJCT turned into a digital station and that they would for Low-Power Stations add the -LD suffix to replace the -LP suffix. Because by now, most of them have converted to digital as of 2024. mer764KCTV5 (He/Him | tc) 19:25, 16 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, so WPCH changed their logo in 2024 by changing The CW logo. Can you make an SVG version out of this, please?: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:WPCH_2024.png BMarGlines (talk) 00:08, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@BMarGlines Not everything needs to be an SVG. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 00:56, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

WCNC

YOUR FREAKING QUICK!!!!! THAT BUGS ME. ANYHOW - the edits I have came from THE VERY SAME PAPER as you cited for other aspects of the article. The dates which WRET dropped 700 for nothing initially and two weeks or so later Trinity Praise were ACCORDING TO TV Listings page on this paper from the same time period. This can be found on the Observer - Just go to Newspapers Ancestry site where you go to get all the other articles to refer. Just put WRET as keyword and put April 1 1973 to June 1 1973 and the windows to view listings will be there. I PROMISE. The show would be split from the TN UMbrella later in 74 but do not have sources for that exact date. But do have sources for Turner's change at WRET from CBN to TBN/PTL. Thanks - nothing personal. STILL HOW DO YOU FIND CHANGES IN THESE ARTCICLES SO FAST LIKE IN MINUTES IF NOT SECONDS????? Marckd (talk) 20:42, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I think you need help with your edits. I suggest you ask my good friend @Sammi Brie:. Mvcg66b3r (talk) 20:44, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Marckd The problem—and the core reason for your edits being rverted—is that citing TV listings is just not good enough. I am usually looking for content that is discussed in actual articles. I found some for WCNC and have put them in. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 21:10, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

KTBN

Can provide a reliable source for when TBN began on WRET/WCNC which came from the Observer TV Listings. But concede cannot find exact sources for when Bakker broke up from the Crouches and TBN so on that I agree. But still WRET did indeed replace 700 Club with TBN programs hosted by Bakker which started out under TBN Umbrella. I know he broke fro TBN but cannot cite when or under what circumstances. By 1975 though it was aparant that Bakker was on his own. Cannot cite when or how though. So I will leave that out Marckd (talk) 20:49, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Removal on KVVU-TV and Gray Television

Hello, I believe you have made a mistake or just didn't care to watch the video created by independent journalists which showed proof of of the claims which makes me question how you felt it was unreliable if you didn't actually review any of it. But I guess you'd like to wait until other news articles report on it because you feel there is some issue with independent journalism if they're not linked to a corporate entity. A cited claim from KVVU-TV is just as good as a cited claim from Channel 5 (web channel), otherwise I believe I can remove every citation linked to KVVU-TV and other local media stations as unreliable sources which would basically remove more than half of KVVU-TV citations. Please reconsider and understand independent journalism that shows proof of the controversy is just as valid as corporate journalism. Gettinglit (talk) 01:05, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Gettinglit: You forgot to sign your post. @Sammi Brie: Your take? Mvcg66b3r (talk) 00:57, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I guess the auto-sign feature got removed?.
It's fine if you'd like to wait for other news stations to report on it (which would be using the same cited source as I did for their report). We can also wait for the court records to become available to cite as the journalist is taking KVVU-TV to court over it.
I'm not adding it back until there's more citations to support it per your request. However I feel this is just censoring an independent journalist and their media group in favor of another despite the claims being cited and visually shown unless you're implying the journalist of committing fraud and faked the takedown request and all evidence of it shown or, if you just didn't actually bother to read any of it and still decided to remove it for some reason. Gettinglit (talk) 01:20, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've noticed the edit warring, as another voice here we should look at WP:NOT, WP:PRIMARYUSE, WP:UNDUE. This is self-reported "controversy" from a primary video source. We should wait for additional, reliable sources before putting undue weight on either article.
It's not about the source "committing fraud" or being unreliable. Fuser55 (talk) 01:22, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't believe there's any "edit warring" as I did not edit it back in after it was removed and even stated I'm not going to add it back in until there are most citations from other news organizations as well as the court records available from the lawsuit.
There's quite a few citations that can be removed for the things you have mentioned including citations by KVVU-TV itself but I feel removal of such things wouldn't be beneficial to anyone, as I feel the same about this case but respect both of your opinions and therefore will not edit it back until more citations are available to support it per your requests, but I do feel this clearly is just censoring a independent journalist and their media group who has shown significant evidence of the controversy in favor of a larger corporate media group. Scripps News affiliates

On the affiliates section of this article, could you help with the an affiliate template and add stations according this RabbitEars link: https://www.rabbitears.info/search.php?request=network_search&network=Scripps+News&sort=state? OWaunTon (talk) 16:33, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

My edits to the above page are necessary because: 1. The piped links avoid redirects. 2. Only AM & SW stations in Canada do not carry suffixes; all other broadcast stations do (FM, analog TV, digital TV). 3. These stations with piped links have changed their callsigns since CBUFT-DT signed on as CBUFT-TV in 1976 & are there for historic clarification. Stereorock (talk) 21:11, 7 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If they return to disruptive thanks after that, or if they use another method of harassment, please feel welcome to let me know, and I will consider whether a larger block may be suitable. WLUC-TV de-piping

Greetings,

I've noticed you have recently edited articles with the edit summary of "de-piping" to explain removing links to embedded redirects, and to remove extrapolations of abbreviations. While the spirit of the effort is appreciated - it is actually unnecessary, amounts to busywork, and may need to be undone at a later date in cases of disambiguation or other situations. Please take a moment to review WP:NOTBROKEN for more information regarding this. Thanks. --Picard's Facepalm Made It So Engage! 18:08, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information iconHello, Mvcg66b3r, I saw that you made a draft for a new article at User:Mvcg66b3r/KXNV-LD. Short term hosting of potentially valid articles and other reasonable content under development or in active use is usually acceptable. But in this case, you haven't edited your draft for a long time. If you wish to improve the draft yourself, please do. Otherwise, you may consider donating it to WikiProject Abandoned Drafts (a participant can help). It may also be best to just fully scrap the draft and idea since similar articles have practically been rapid-fire nominated at AfD and PROD. Shadow311 (talk) 15:35, 19 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
