Hi! You scared me for a moment there, re. the above - it's a fabulous resource, which we've barely begun to tap. so much so that the government does grant-aid it. I'd heard there were threats to the funding, but as of today, at least, it's working. Maybe it was down for a period around some renewal of hosting or some such? I just tried a couple of searches on it, and it seems to still have the deep well of material to hand. Hope the trip to Ireland went well, greetings from far off, SeoR (talk) 15:39, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@SeoR: Wow, that was quick of you to spot. I was searching from a downloaded jstor document but the link to the site was not working. Maybe the site was just down for the time I was on. That's why I searched deep into archive.org, a pain to do but possible to find stuff. I considered fleshing out the College St article but am working on a few others before the 10,000 articles get completed. Dublin was good: went to the GPO Witness History cafe to see the range of post boxes some of us had never seen before. Also visited the National Printing Museum in Begger's Bush, where there is a stamp exhibit "Miniature Masterpieces". Saw family and did other stuff but I got cold to the bone even though it was not really that cold but the wind was quite strong - dampness in Ireland is a pain now that I am generally used to less humid climates. Thanks for commenting. ww2censor (talk) 16:02, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
