The compliance of the European picture sleeve of Time After Time (Cyndi Lauper song) with NFCC shall be evaluated. I uploaded the vinyl side label (File:Time After Time by Cyndi Lauper US vinyl A-side.jpg) to Commons, intending to use it as top lead image. However, seems that some editors favor the European sleeve mainly because it contains an image of the singer and song title. Furthermore, artworks (or picture sleeves) have had mass appeal over the years. In this case, let's evaluate whether the European sleeve meets at least one criterion, like "contextual significance" (#8).

The singer and the song are American and US-produced, but they both made international impact as well. Nonetheless, I question whether the European sleeve is necessary as one of visual identifiers. Sure, the US single release used a generic sleeve, but displaying the side label identifies the release itself. Furthermore, displaying it helps readers realize how manufactured and distributed the single release was to American customers and how the song recorded by the American singer was marketed. Also, non-US releases outside Europe didn't use a picture sleeve. European customers were fortunate to receive the picture sleeve, but I'm uncertain whether the sleeve itself reflects critical commentary provided by the article.
