File:Combine soldiers.png (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by S@bre ( | contribs | uploads | upload log).

Rendered somewhat unnecessary for fair use due to the existence of File:Civil Protection (Half-Life).jpg used in the same article also depicting Combine soldiers. If it were just the Hunter unit it would make more sense, but that one is obscured and could be depicted by a better image. This is clearly redundant. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 05:55, 6 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

File:Parkinson's Law Book.jpg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Chemical Engineer ( | contribs | uploads | upload log).

The file is the book cover of Parkinson's Law: The Pursuit of Progress, which is used in the article of Parkinson's law. As the article is about the general concept but not the book, it's inclusion may violate point 9 of WP:NFC#UUI. This is especially true as the concept is not first introduced by this book. Moreover, it has limited contextual significance: a paragraph in the article (The essay was ... other countries too.) is sufficient in demonstrating the book's popularity.

The file therefore violates WP:NFC#UUI point 9 and WP:NFCC#8, and should be deleted. 廣九直通車 (talk) 10:24, 6 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

File:KletzBiography.gif (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Chemical Engineer ( | contribs | uploads | upload log).

The file is the cover of Trevor Kletz's bibliography, which is used for identification purposes (presumably identifying the person). As we already have c:File:Trevor Kletz, Manchester 2010 1.jpg and c:File:Trevor Kletz, Manchester 2010 2.jpg on Commons that depicts the person (although some cropping is needed), the file therefore constitutes a clear violation of WP:NFCC#1, and should therefore be deleted. 廣九直通車 (talk) 10:31, 6 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Both the publisher (Peter Varey) and Trevor Kletz gave permission for its use at the time. Sadly, they are both now deceased, and I no longer have access to the emails.
