JusticeTrax Upgrades ISO 9001 Certification to the New Standard

JusticeTrax, Inc., the leading provider of laboratory information management systems to the forensic science laboratory community is proud to announce that it has successfully transitioned from the ISO 9001:2008 to the ISO 9001:2015 Standard. After months of preparation, led by Quality Manager Paul Tracy, which included rewriting and updating the processes and procedures of the company, internal training of staff members, and a series of internal audits, JusticeTrax was evaluated in January 2017, and deemed to meet all of the Standard’s requirements. Certification was conferred on February 8, 2017.

JusticeTrax, Inc. currently supports 109 customers in 176 locations with its mainline application, LIMS-plus®, as well as several ancillary applications, all designed and delivered to improve the effectiveness of the forensic science and law enforcement environments.

JusticeTrax, Inc. President Simon Key commented “Quality has always been a key success factor for JusticeTrax and ISO 9001’s focus on continual improvement has proved to be a great tool to help us progress towards our goals. It’s axiomatic that one only ever approaches one’s quality goals asymptotically, so the commitment to remaining current with ISO Quality standards is part of an ongoing effort. We’re very proud of our Quality Department’s work and we look forward to seeing those benefits flow through to our customers.”

After first earning ISO 9001:2008 certification in February 2009, JusticeTrax has now maintained compliance for eight (8) years and is pleased to be an early adopter of the 2015 Standard. Companies are not required to move to this updated Standard until 2018.

To maintain ISO 9001 certification, JusticeTrax conducts a series of internal audits each year with all results, including opportunities for improvement, reviewed by the management team. Additionally, a customer survey is performed annually to gather feedback from end users and administrators of JusticeTrax products. The management team actively engages in the certification process to leverage the quality system for the greater good of the company and, by extension, JusticeTrax customers.

According to the International Organization for Standardization 2015 survey, over 1 million certificates were issued in 2015 for the 9001 Standard in 170+ countries, with just over 33,000 issued in the United States. The Standard addresses numerous aspects of quality management and provides guidance for companies wishing to ensure its products and services meet the needs and requirements of their customers, and to improve quality in an ongoing fashion.
