07/08/2011 - Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for Selected Tanzania Public Health Laboratories

The Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Global AIDS Program (GAP) is supporting the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). This request for proposals (RFP) is one component under the overarching PEPFAR goal to strengthen health system capacity and services for HIV/AIDS. This RFP solicits offers from qualified information technology software providers to implement a laboratory information management system (LIMS) at seven laboratory sites of the Tanzania Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (MOHSW).

Contur Software AB, a wholly owned subsidiary of Accelrys, Inc., today announced that compound supplier Key Organics Ltd. has chosen the cloud solution iLabber as their Electronic Laboratory Notebook system. iLabber will be used within early drug discovery research to improve research documentation and knowledge sharing and reinforce IP protection in contract research.

Ross Group Inc (RGI) announced final contract award of the Universal Veterinary Information System (UVIS) with the University of Pretoria located in South Africa.

07/07/2011 - CLC bio offers free 6-months licenses for CLC Genomics Workbench to owners of Ion Torrent, 454 GS Junior, and MiSeq

Today, CLC bio announced the offer of one 6-months license of CLC bio's premier desktop software package, CLC Genomics Workbench, to researchers and organizations who have purchased one of these sequencing instruments: Ion Torrent PGM from Life Technologies, 454 GS Junior from Roche, or Illumina's upcoming MiSeq. The licenses will be for a fully functional version and support as well as all software upgrades during the half year period are included.
