02/07/2012 - Laboratory Information System (LIS) for Selected Public Health Laboratories in Guyana

The Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Global AIDS Program (GAP) is supporting the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). This request for proposals (RFP) is one component under the overarching PEPFAR goal to strengthen health system capacity and services for HIV/AIDS. A complete description of PEPFAR can be found at http://www.pepfar.gov/about/. This RFP solicits offers from qualified information technology software providers to implement a laboratory information management system (LIS) at two Phase I sites in Guyana.

02/13/2012 - Pacific Biosciences Releases Next Generation Chemistry and Software for PacBio® RS DNA Sequencing System

Pacific Biosciences of California, Inc. (NASDAQ: PACB), provider of Single Molecule Real Time (SMRT®) sequencing products, today announced it has released a major upgrade to its PacBio® RS system, referred to as “C2”, including new chemistry, enhanced SMRT Cells and upgraded software, which together provide customers with significant performance increases for DNA sequencing. The company and numerous customers will discuss their progress with the platform through a total of 50 presentations and posters at the 2012 Advances in Genome Biology & Technology (AGBT) meeting this week in Marco Island, Fla.

02/13/2012 - New Crime Management System for the Norwegian National Police Directorate Being Developed by Accenture

Accenture is developing a new national crime management system for the Norwegian National Police Directorate (POD) to support police investigations and criminal prosecutions in Norway. The company was selected as the lead management consultant and information technology partner under a contract signed in June 2011.

02/09/2012 - CLC bio and VIB Agree on an Academic Regional Site License

Today, CLC bio and VIB, a life sciences research institute in Flanders, Belgium, announced the signing of an academic regional site license agreement for CLC bio's sequence analysis software CLC DNA Workbench. The software will be used across academic institutions in the Flanders region in Belgium, including Universiteit Gent, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, University of Antwerp, and the Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
