ALcontrol Laboratories Invests $1.2 million in IFS Applications(TM) to Streamline Sample Testing Processes and Workflow for Customers Throughout Europe
ALcontrol Laboratories, a rapidly expanding European testing group with 31 laboratory sites in the UK, the Netherlands, Ireland, Sweden, and France has selected IFS Applications to support all the commercial aspects of its business, operating in conjunction with ALcontrol’s advanced Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) facilities. With more than 1,300 employees, ALcontrol is one of the largest independent testing organizations in Europe. It provides first-class sample-testing services to the food and environmental (which includes water, soil, air, and asbestos) markets.
ALcontrol processes more than two million customers’ samples per year. It will implement IFS Applications to standardize workflows and to adopt common business processes throughout all its business units. This will allow the company to maximize customer service and the turnaround of sample results, a critical factor for ALcontrol in an increasingly demanding market.
In selecting a new backbone system, ALcontrol needed strong capabilities for web-based order management for collaboration with customers and suppliers, workflow-driven internal support processes, and an open architecture, permitting seamless integration with the laboratory systems. The new system will support a genuine multinational business and will provide management with key operating metrics at each operating level of the business in real time.
ALcontrol chose IFS Applications for its ability to provide these features in a single flexible solution. IFS Applications will also supply ALcontrol’s financial accounting, customer relationship management, order management, inventory, and procurement needs.
