Keris, Inc. Awarded for Clinical Trials Technology

As part of its 2004 print media competition, The Communicator Awards recently bestowed Keris, Inc. with an Award of Distinction. The award was presented for an article on the company’s interactive informed consent software, Vital Consent™. The software uses narration, video, 3-D graphics, and on-screen text to educate potential research subjects before they decide whether or not to volunteer for a medical research study.

The six-page article, entitled, “Multimedia Delivery Can Enhance the Consent Process” focuses on the key benefits patients receive when technology is used during the informed consent process: improved knowledge and comprehension, decreased anxiety, more realistic expectations, and higher overall satisfaction. The article was selected as “Pick of the Month” on the Applied Clinical Trials magazine website after publication in the January 2003 issue.

The Communicator Awards is an international awards competition founded by communication professionals to recognize excellence in print, audio, and video communications. Each year, entries to The Communicator Awards come from all 50 states and numerous foreign countries. The Award of Distinction is presented for projects that exceed industry standards in quality and excellence.
