Global Pharmaceutical Leader Selects CyberLAB for Long Term Data Archive Solution
Scientific Software, Inc. (SSI), a world leader in providing software solutions to the scientific community, announced today that a leading pharmaceutical products and services company with global headquarters in New Jersey has awarded Scientific Software with a large contract to deliver a long-term data archive solution based on Scientific Software’s award-winning CyberLAB Enterprise Content Management System™.
This long-term data archive system will manage the global pharma’s intellectual property for pre-clinical research and development, which produces approximately 4 TB of data per year. This data is governed by different regulatory (GLP, cGMP, GCP, 21 CFR Part 11) and legal guidelines and requires the use of records retention policies to be in effect for up to 100 years. Scientific Software was one of twenty vendors bidding for the contract on this strategic, corporate-wide initiative, and was selected in lieu of several Enterprise Content Management (ECM) market leaders. The key value-add from Scientific Software for this project is a highly scalable and robust system, smart filters for extraction of metadata from a variety of laboratory as well as non laboratory electronic records, document retention, Technology Neutral File (TNF) conversion, ease of use and lower cost of ownership. Additional considerations were SSI’s specialization in enabling regulatory compliance, support of Centera storage from EMC and a history of successful data and information management implementations with the global pharma.
“Scientific Software is pleased to extend its relationship with this global pharmaceutical leader,” said Dr. Soheil Saadat, President and CEO of Scientific Software, Inc. “A large number of our pharmaceutical customers are optimizing the way they manage unstructured content such as laboratory data and reports, spreadsheets, images, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to reap the benefits of easily searching, retrieving, sharing and securing it in a scalable, centralized repository. Quick and easy access to these documents via an intuitive user interface, which the CyberLAB ECM system provides, accelerates productivity, increases customer satisfaction and insures regulatory compliance.”
