National Instruments DIAdem 9.1 Loads More Than 100 Billion Data Values
National Instruments today announced NI DIAdem 9.1 interactive software for managing, inspecting, analyzing and reporting test data. With this new version of DIAdem, which delivers a new data plug-in layer, engineers can import a wider variety of file types and access significantly more test data than with previous versions of the offline analysis and report generation software. The new data plug-in layer available in DIAdem 9.1 offers engineers an easy solution for importing data from a larger variety of file formats. By visiting the new DIAdem plug-in resources Web page, engineers can access more than 14 prebuilt plug-ins for loading different types of files into DIAdem. For instance, engineers using DIAdem 9.1 now can load files from Nicolet and Yokogawa scopes or OrCad PSpice software to compare simulation and test data. “By adding the data plug-in layer to DIAdem 9.1, we have delivered what customers need – an easy-to-use interface where engineers and scientists can quickly load their data into DIAdem,” said Andreas Haub, NI DIAdem development manager. “Engineers and scientists benefit from the robust memory management features of DIAdem 9.1 that make it possible to access extremely large data sets.” DIAdem 9.1 features a new, sophisticated memory management scheme for accessing extremely large amounts of data quickly. With the new plug-in architecture, engineers and scientists now can access test data files that contain more than 65,000 columns of data and a total of more than 100 billion values – 98 billion more data values than the previously released version and significantly more than the traditional spreadsheet – for high-performance tests in the automotive and aerospace industries. Also, engineers and scientists using DIAdem 9.1 now can export their reports to Adobe PDF files for distributing test data in an industry-accepted format and add new graphical annotations to help them better communicate their findings. Because the DIAdem plug-in architecture extends across the NI software platform, DIAdem 9.1 provides increased connectivity with the NI LabVIEW 7.1 graphical development environment and NI LabWindows/CVI 7.1 ANSI C development environment.
