ADMET Enhances Concrete Testing Product Line; Product and Software Updates Offer State-of-the-Art Concrete Testing Solutions for Both New Equipment and Retrofits
ADMET(TM) Inc., a provider of integrated materials testing systems, announced major enhancements to its concrete testing product line at the World of Concrete trade show in Las Vegas. The announcement includes new features for the company’s automatic concrete testing system, Concrete-Traker database program and Precise Digital Controller.
“Concrete testing environments are incredibly harsh and the equipment extremely price competitive,” commented Richard Gedney, ADMET founder and president. “Our focus at ADMET has always been to offer products that are rugged, improve productivity and are price competitive. The enhancements that we are introducing at the show make users more efficient while helping ensure that tests are performed error free and according to ASTM specification; all at a price equal to or less than previous offerings.”
Automatic Concrete Testing System
The automatic concrete testing system is ideally suited for compression testing where precise load control is required. The system consists of an ADMET digital indicator or MTESTWindows Materials Testing System and the MegaForce automatic loading valve which accurately controls machines that operate to 10,000 psi. This includes ELE/Soiltest, Forney and TestMark Industries concrete compression testing load frames.
ADMET is offering the Gauge Buster Load/Stress Indicator as a new low cost controller for the automatic concrete testing system. The Gauge Buster saves at least 50% on controller costs. It automatically controls and verifies the rate of loading to ensure the test was performed according to ASTM standards.
Concrete-Traker
Concrete-Traker is a PC-based database program for testing concrete cylinders and distributing test reports. Test sample tracking begins as cylinders are collected and tagged in the field. Field technicians record supplier, mix design, placement location, temperature, slump, air content and other information on a portable computer or PDA.
Upon arrival at the lab, the cylinders are checked in through a keyboard entry or bar code scan to update the tracking file. Compressive strength results are automatically imported into the database from an ADMET digital indicator. Concrete-Traker quickly reports test findings to construction managers and clients through printed reports or on the Web.
A new feature available in Concrete-Traker reports the number of cylinders tested for a given client and job number over a specific time period. Also included in the report is the compressive strength of each cylinder tested. Laboratories are using this information to quickly and accurately determine how much they should invoice clients for the work performed.
“Concrete-Traker continues to be a program that’s customer driven,” commented Gedney. “We’ve added features over the years that have really improved the productivity of the testing lab while keeping the price low. The features have all come as suggestions from customers and our customers are showing their appreciation in the form of increased sales.”
Precise Digital Controller
Rounding out its product enhancements for concrete testing, ADMET also introduced new features for the Precise Digital Controller which enable it to calculate ASTM C469 Static Modulus of Elasticity for concrete cylinders. Previously, laboratories would have to purchase expensive software to perform the calculations. “With the Precise, customers lower their cost by 50% and have a system that is more suited for the harsh environments of concrete testing,” continued Gedney.
All of the ADMET concrete testing system components are available immediately directly from ADMET or through affiliated calibrators.
