Warnex sells second Rapid Pathogen Detection System to West Liberty Foods
Warnex Inc. (TSX: WNX) announced today that U.S.-based West Liberty Foods L.L.C. has purchased a second WarnexTM Rapid Pathogen Detection System to monitor the safety of its products. After having successfully used the Warnex System for several months, West Liberty Foods has acquired this additional System to increase their volume of tests.
West Liberty Foods is a leading manufacturer of ready-to-eat meats, including turkey, beef, pork and chicken products, and a major supplier to corporations such as Subway, Denny’s and Wal-Mart. The company’s food processing plant covers approximately 270,000 sq. feet and employs over 1,100 employees.
The Warnex Rapid Pathogen Detection System uses cutting-edge DNA-based technology to rapidly and accurately determine the presence of pathogens in a food sample. The system allows for the simultaneous detection of multiple pathogens and processing of samples within 12 to 48 hours, a significant improvement over traditional microbiology tests that currently require 5 to 7 days.
