Baylor College of Medicine Selects Advanced Clinical Software’s (ACS) Study Manager(TM) as its Clinical Trial Management Solution

Advanced Clinical Software (ACS), the leader in clinical trial management software (CTMS), announced today that Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) has chosen ACS’ Study Manager software as their end-to-end solution for managing clinical trials. The deployment of Study Manager is a significant move on the part of BCM to revolutionize the way it manages clinical trials.

Baylor College of Medicine is one of the leading research institutions in the country. They are ranked 13th in research revenue out of the 125 academic medical centers in the country, and 10th overall in the nation for NIH grants.

“Because of the large number of clinical trials we do here at Baylor, we decided that implementing a clinical trial management system could have a significant positive impact on our operations,” stated Helen Shepherd, Director of Research Infrastructure Programs.

Institutions are realizing the large efficiency gains of centralizing and managing research within an Office of Clinical Trials, using a mature clinical trials software package such as Study Manager. Other institutions, academic and non-academic, will certainly look toward Baylor for direction.

“Our contract with Baylor College of Medicine is strong confirmation of where the clinical trials industry is going,” said Bruce Schatzman, President and Founder of ACS. “Institutions are realizing the large efficiency gains of centralizing and managing research within an Office of Clinical Trials using a mature clinical trials software package such as Study Manager.”

With other recent major academic customer acquisitions including the Medical College of Georgia and Indiana University School of Medicine — Purdue University Indianapolis, ACS now has over 1,700 companies, representing approximately 10,000 user licenses to Study Manager. Additionally, ACS Hosted Services has seen its client list continue to expand and now has well over 200 firms taking advantage of this service to manage clinical drug trials easily and securely over the web without the need for additional IT services and support.
