Invitrogen Signs Agreement with Nonlinear Dynamics to Distribute Advanced Analysis Software Solutions
Nonlinear Dynamics, a leading provider of bioinformatics solutions, and Invitrogen Corporation, an essential provider of life science technologies and services, today announced an agreement in which Invitrogen will promote and distribute products from Nonlinear’s portfolio of life science analysis software. The agreement covers a number of products, including those for the detailed analysis of 1D and 2D electrophoresis gels. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Nonlinear will provide software from its well-respected TotalLab and Progenesis ranges to be added to the Invitrogen portfolio. These will be marketed alongside Invitrogen’s proteomics solutions, most notably the company’s broad platform in 1D and 2D gel electrophoresis. On an ongoing basis, the two companies will work together to integrate further their respective products and create an enhanced portfolio for researchers.
John Spreadbury, Group Sales and Marketing Director of Nonlinear Dynamics and CEO, Nonlinear USA Inc., said, “By entering this agreement, Invitrogen is further strengthening its already broad product offering into new areas. It is expanding its existing portfolio to enable complete workflow support in critical applications. This gives the corporation an even greater claim to represent a single-stop provider for life science researchers in pharma, biotech and academia.
“Invitrogen has a stated policy of partnering with a variety of businesses to achieve the very best in life science technologies. This partnership is an excellent example of our continued emphasis in this area.”
Amy Butler, Business Area Manager for Proteomics from Invitrogen added, “As our customers’ needs grow and evolve, the web of partnership becomes even more crucial for success. By working closely with our customers, we identified this important step in the 1D and 2D workflows where we could bolster our offering. Nonlinear represents the perfect partner to fill this gap, with well-respected and well-established products into which they maintain high levels of ongoing investment. These not only offer us greater breadth in our product offering, but will also further enhance our existing products through effective integration.”
