MBR Mining Company has a new laboratory analysis system

It is now easier for the Brazilian mining company MBR to manage laboratory information.  Chemtech started to implement LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System), specially developed and with all the specifications for this company, to help it reduce costs and increase efficiency and productivity, and guarantee the final quality of products.

A special team of Chemtech engineers has been working on this project since January and has already implemented the Pico Mine and Vargem Grande Mine systems, both located in Belo Horizonte, state of Minas Gerais.  The next stage, scheduled to start on the next days, will take the system the Mutuca Mine (BH) and to the Guaíba Sea Terminal (Mangaratiba, state of Rio de Janeiro).

“LIMS means a great conquest for our area.  It will contribute to the quality of our services. We are very pleased with the work and commitment of the Chemtech engineers.  We are looking forward to the conclusion of this project”, said Raquel Guerra, MBR Chemical Laboratory supervisor.

Chemtech has been responsible for system development, for its integration with instruments (scales, X-ray, plasma, and electronic microburettes), for the implementation of barcode labels to identify iron ore samples, and for the training of system users and managers.  And the work goes on!  Chemtech will also be responsible for technical support and remote and local maintenance for one year.

With the help of LIMS solution, MBR will be able to manage all laboratory information, besides generating and managing automatically laboratory routine according to production.  Using this system the mining company will also be able to do quick tracking of product data, at any given moment.

LIMS integrates laboratory information with corporate and process control structures by feeding the system with all quality control information.  This also allows for the immediate generation of reports and certificates.
