Stratagene Launches PathwayArchitect(TM) Software; Next Generation Pathway Software Designed for the Life Scientist

Stratagene Corporation, a leading developer, manufacturer and marketer of specialized life science research and diagnostic products, announced today the launch of its PathwayArchitect(TM) Software — the next generation systems biology-focused pathway analysis software.

Stratagene’s PathwayArchitect software is set to become the new standard in pathway analysis. With its easy to use biology-focused workflow and a vast database of more than one million biological interactions, the PathwayArchitect software is designed with the life scientist in mind.

The PathwayArchitect software also features a new method to explore biological interactions — the Relevance Interaction Network. Relevance Interaction Network analysis begins with a protein list and identifies the network of proteins and small molecules which are most statistically related to the biology of the protein list. This algorithm makes it possible to easily identify binding complexes, transcriptional regulation networks, and even small molecules that regulate the biology of a group of proteins.

“One-click Relevance Interaction Networks make the PathwayArchitect software a powerful application for life scientists who need to understand the science behind their protein lists of interest. Additionally, its ability to run on the Macintosh platform is vital to the academic research community,” said David Weber, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Stratagene. “Coupled with its ease of use, its rich database content makes the PathwayArchitect software the leading tool for systems biology-focused pathway analysis.”

The PathwayArchitect software supports MySQL(R) and will shortly support Oracle(R) databases. The software can be installed locally on the desktop or deployed as an enterprise-level solution, and is fully Mac(R), Windows(R), and Linux(R) compatible. The PathwayArchitect software is also fully integrated with Stratagene’s ArrayAssist(R) suite of software for microarray data analysis.

For advanced users, a new scripting engine is featured in all Stratagene software products that allow scripting of complex functions and user-defined workflows. The scripting capabilities enable creation and deployment of automated workflows significantly extending the functionality, ease of use, and usefulness for the research team. Scientists will find a simplified and accelerated route to discovery in the PathwayArchitect software.

Stratagene’s PathwayArchitect software and the ArrayAssist suite are powered by the award-winning avadis(TM) technology and co-developed with Strand Life Sciences.
