Partner Program Expansion Announced at ESS

TEMPE, Ariz. – August 15, 2006 – ESS, the leading provider of Operational Risk Management software for Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) and Crisis Management, today announced the expansion of the company’s global partner development program to help address growing demands from engineering and consulting firms, and customers alike, for support of their service and growth initiatives.

The ESS Partner Program offers a single, integrated network for organizations that want to combine their expertise with ESS’ products and services to extend their market reach, reduce costs, increase profitability and help customers achieve their full business potential. Partners include organizations with a range of competencies and an interest in accessing ESS resources and aligning themselves more closely with the EH&S and Crisis information management market leader.

As part of the expansion, Mark Weitner, a seasoned technology industry veteran with a strong track record of experience involving fast-growing and strategic companies, has been named vice president of business development. Weitner has 20 years of experience in international high-technology executive marketing, sales, business development and operations management. Before joining ESS, he was chief operating officer and founding member of Parabon Computation. He was also senior vice president of sales, marketing and operations at Essential Technologies, which was acquired by ESS in 2002.

“Over the past few years, ESS has established a dynamic leadership presence in information management software and solutions for EH&S regulatory compliance and emergency response,” Weitner said. “As the market leader and only vendor in our space with a clear strategic focus – Operational Risk Management as a key factor in reducing Enterprise Risk Management and achieving operational excellence – this is a great opportunity.”

In addition, Roman Mohren has been promoted to business development manager, responsible for growing and managing the company’s international network of consulting and system integration partners. In his 13 years of high-tech management, marketing and sales experience, he has helped to grow sales through channels in Europe for U.S. companies including Vignette and Lizardtech.

“Mark’s return to this industry and Roman’s credentials and experience in the United States and abroad clearly enhance our capabilities at a time when we are experiencing record levels of growth,” said Robert Johnson, CEO of ESS. “In this environment, expansion of the ESS Partner Program is a major development for us, and we have already begun to engage our partners and customers in this effort.”
