Systems Programmer
The System Analyst / Programmer position will support development and deployment of functional enhancements, integrations, data migrations, and application upgrades for a large STARLIMS implementation in a federal forensic science organization. Accepted candidates will receive extensive training on operation, development, and maintenance of the STARLIMS application.

Job Description:
Under minimal supervision from a more senior developer:
- Perform basic or complex configuration of laboratory information systems
- Develop simple or complex software functionality but with limited scope
- Write periodic status / progress reports
- Participate in peer reviews of code for coding standards, best practices, functionality, error handling, etc.
- Write medium to complex SQL queries using relational database concepts and schema design principles
- Develop simple or complex reports
- Break complex processes into smaller achievable pieces
- Integrate scientific applications with other scientific or non-scientific applications
- Participate in requirements analysis process with client stakeholders
- Transform client requirements into design solutions
- Develop complex algorithms and software designs
- Design and develop reusable utility/library software for general use
- Perform simple database optimization
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4 Year degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Management Information Science, Chemistry, Biology or related field
- 1 year work experience with .NET development platform
- 1 year work experience Oracle databases and development tools
- Strong logical / analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- US Citizen with existing Secret Clearance or ability to obtain such clearance
- Reside in Washington, DC, or ability to travel and perform work onsite at client Monday through Friday
