Current Need McKesson is currently hiring a Laboratory Instrument Systems Specialist to support the MI and IN Territory. Candidates should live in/around Detroit or Indianapolis and have the ability to travel within the territory.
Position Description
Responsible for selling complex technical products and/or services. This would typically be a limited number of the company's products. Typically specializes in a single product or product line. This job is account-assigned and is required to manage the sale from identification to closing the deal.
The Instrument Systems Specialist (ISS) is a capital specialist who represents the full suite of McKesson technology products. The Specialist is expected to be an extension of top suppliers in the diagnostic industry. The ISS position requires significant industry experience and a track record of top performance.
McKesson is currently hiring a Laboratory Instrument Systems Specialist to support the MI and IN Territory. Candidates should live in/around Detroit or Indianapolis and have the ability to travel within the territory.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and other duties as assigned:
• Ability to drive a complex sales process from lead generation all of the way through contract closure and implementation
• Ability to differentiate technology from major laboratory disciplines such as: clinical chemistry, immunoassay, hematology, coagulation and other specialty technologies
• Responds to sales leads from sales representatives, vendors, and other sources in a timely manner.
• Works closely with assigned DSC’s as a team member with leadership capabilities
• Understands key drivers in the technology decision process, and is able to obtain specific testing/patient information from customer to determine instrument best suited for customers use.
• Can successfully demonstrate all capital equipment
• Works closely with manufacturers in promoting capital equipment
• Ability to work with supplier pricing tools, web base tools, Excel and other applications, to present an accurate financial proposal and solution to our customers
• Ability to build relationships at all levels, including: supplier, customer and employees
• Assists with scheduling of vendor site visit.
• Schedules sales visits with customer or sales representative.
• Travels to customer site or prepares meeting at site to demonstrate instrumentation.
• Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
2+ years technical product sales experience
Critical Skills
- Previous capital equipment sales
- Clear and valid driver’s license
- Experience selling laboratory tests and equipment related to chemistry analyzers, hematology or Immunoassay tests or equipment into clinical labs
- Demonstrated sales experience meeting/exceeding goals or quotas
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Experience selling into Physician office Labs, Hospital Labs or Reference Labs.
Education
4-year degree in business or related field or equivalent experience
Certifications/Licensure
Medical Technologist License Preferred
Physical Requirements
Ability to travel within assigned territory (2-3 nights a week)
