Research Associate II Cell Culture Process Upstream Development
The Research Associate (RA) will work in the department of Upstream Development and Operations at Teva within Biologics CMC. The RA will participate in cell culture process development for early and late stage development projects and also provide process analytical support. RA will work in a collaborative setting with other cell culture process development staff and support execution of activities for projects. RA will be expected to independently operate automation equipment (e.g TECAN) and analytical equipment (e.g. HPLC) to implement assays for measuring product (typically antibody) titer (Protein A HPLC) and product quality attributes such as glycosylation (HILIC), aggregation (SEC), and charge heterogeneity (CEX) and support departmental needs.
Responsibilities
•Support in cell culture process development for early and late stage development projects
•Execute basic analytical methods relevant to cell culture process development such as titer determination, size-exclusion chromatography and glycan analysis using commercially available kits, reagents and instrumentation such as HPLC and UPLC
•Execute high-throughput sample preparation using robotics and fluid management systems such as TECAN
•Receive training from the analytical development group on existing and new analytical methods or technologies and bring these to the cell culture group
•Perform upkeep of the laboratory including routine laboratory and analytical equipment and maintain stocks for routinely used lab supplies and reagents
•Collect and organize data, perform basic statistical analysis and author reports
Requirements:
Qualifications
• BS in biology, biochemistry, microbiology, chemical engineering, biochemical engineering or related fields
• 5 years of relevant analytical and/or cell culture experience Hands-on experience of operating HPLCs, UPLCs and EMPOWER software for implementing assays
• Hands-on experience with cell culture media analytics such as ICP-MS for trace metals, HPLC for amino acid analysis etc
• Experience with upkeep and minor maintenance of these systems
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
