Principal Scientist-Biotech
Position Overview
ATL is seeking a dynamic Principal Scientist to join our team of dedicated professionals focused on client service and quality. The ideal candidate will be motivated, energetic, forward-thinking, and possess outstanding leadership development and/or technical skills, organizational awareness, and a commitment to excellence.
Major Responsibilities:
- Routine laboratory maintenance, SOPs reviews, re-training
- Ensure employees are properly trained on labs systems, methods, SOPs
- Proactively evaluate the laboratory’s quality systems for gaps against current compliance standards and/or industry trends for compliance
- Work with client services to build relationships with existing clients, expand relationships with existing clients, and strive to provide opportunities for the client to have an exceptional experience
- Proactively develop staff
- Coach and provide feedback on job performance
- Annual performance evaluations and identifying development opportunities
- Assist with training new hires
- Establish systems for ensuring a high-level lab hygiene
- Bachelor's Degree and/or Master’s Degree in Bio-analytical Field; GLP Quantification
- Minimum of 5 + years of practical Bio-analytical experience in consumer goods, pharmaceutical, medical device industries or CRO
Requirements:
- Technical experience in HPLC/MS, PCR and GLP quantification including method development and validation
- Must have hands-on Mass Spec and Method Development experience
- Practical knowledge of GMP/GLP and related quality systems including equipment qualifications, method development and validation, training and SOP development
- Prefer familiarity with quantitative assays for dermal inflammation indicators (cytokines, histamine etc.)
- Background in Biotech, Microbiology and/or Analytical research
- Methodology and methodology validation knowledge and practice
- Solid overall practical experience
- Experience working in a regulated environment
- Experience managing people
- Practical experience in lab operations (optimization & development)
- Experience troubleshooting & problem-solving
- Practical experience with USP methods and criteria including the following USP methodologies – <51>, <61>, and <62>
- Demonstrated equipment and method validation experience
- Practice in the cosmetic and medical devices industries
- Client facing experience
- Strong customer service/client orientation exposure
