Position Title: Buyer – Indirect 
Summary: 
Ensure the procurement of pharmaceutical lab supplies, manufacturing equipment, engineering services, warehouse and office supplies in a timely, cost efficient basis across all facilities in North America. 
Responsibilities: 
Engage in material sourcing and price negotiations 
Capture and report monthly savings 
Create, place, and follow-up on rush orders 
Create routine PO's in SAP/Metis 
Print all released PO's 
Call and/or fax all routine PO's to vendors 
Systematically follow up on all open orders utilizing SAP reports 
Change/delete PO's in SAP/Metis 
Liaise with vendors to obtain latest price lists and changes 
Create and maintain SAP master data 
Update and create new vendor list in SAP/Metis 
Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned

Requirements: 

Bachelor's Degree 
Must have at least three years of work experience within a pharmaceutical company in the purchase of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), raw materials, and packaging materials. 
Minimum of three years of work experience in a purchasing/procurement environment 
Working knowledge of SAP 
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) 
Ability to resolve issues regarding goods receipts, invoicing, and rush order placement 
Strong negotiation skills coupled with strong sense of urgency and attention to detail skills 
Ability to interact with internal personnel in multiple departments 
Ability to negotiate, procure, and establish strong vendor relationships

Must have the ability to wear applicable personal protective equipment utilized at the site, including but not limited to respirators, safety glasses/goggles, and safety shoes. 
Must have English language fluency, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate at all levels within the organization.
