Quality Control Engineer

Job Brief

We are actively looking for an experienced and skilled QC Engineer to monitor and improve the quality of our operational processes and outputs. The quality engineer's responsibilities include designing quality standards, inspecting materials, equipment, processes, and products, developing quality control systems, and determining corrective actions. You will also work with managers and supervisors to implement quality measures.

 

A successful quality engineer should have excellent troubleshooting skills and be able to ensure that processes and products consistently meet established quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides expertise with performance testing procedures, guidelines, and industry best practices.
  • Reviews test scripts and make improvements if necessary
  • With limited direction, carries out procedures to ensure that all information systems products and services meet company and client standards and end-user requirements.
  • Thoroughly tests software to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects and/or supports testing as a witness to testing requirements.
  • Organizes and maintains all quality assurance documentation.
  • Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
  • Report any coding bugs or QC related issues as they arise, including those that might impact security
  • Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs
  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
  • Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements
  • Report bugs and errors to development teams
  • Monitor debugging process results
  • Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results
  • Evaluate product code according to specifications
  • Help troubleshoot issues
  • Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Develop test plans, test scenarios, and test cases that adhere to URS & FRS requirements
  • Utilizes ticket management (Redmine) and other tools to document test results and features
  • Devises improvements to current procedures and develops models of possible future configurations.
  • Performs workflow analysis and recommends quality improvements.
  • Has the flexibility to meet changing organizational focus and needs in a fast-paced environment
  • The desire for excellence in user experience and for producing quality software for end-users.

 

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent technical field
  • Strong experience with QC methodologies and software testing techniques and tools
  • Demonstrated skills and experience with Classic ASP, .NET, JavaScript, SQL Server, and C#.
  • The preferred candidate will have experience with Node-Red, Mirth, DreamFactory, and/or GraphQL
  • Knowledge of QC standards, practices, positive and negative testing, acceptance testing, functional testing, and regression testing
  • Ability to write, debug and troubleshoot code
  • Experience working closely with development and business teams
  • Highly organized with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail
  • Excellent written and communication skills
