AACC Calls For Poster Abstracts For 2010 Annual Meeting

Washington, DC, December 1, 2009              The American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) announces that its 2010 Annual Meeting & Clinical Lab Expo will be held July 25-29, 2010 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA.  As part of the preparations for the meeting, AACC has issued an invitation to submit poster abstracts for presentation.

Posters provide an opportunity for medical professionals to present their latest lab-focused research to their peers.  Submitted abstracts will be reviewed by two experts in the subject using a ‘blind’ process whereby the identity of the author(s) is not known.  Where the two reviewers disagree, the abstract will be referred to a third reviewer and the majority opinion decides the disposition of the abstract.  To qualify, the content of the abstract cannot have been previously published in a copyrighted, peer-reviewed journal.

Authors of selected abstracts will be asked to offer posters in the Clinical Lab Expo hall for 21/2 hours and be present to answer questions during the final hour.  Accepted abstracts will also be published online in Clinical Chemistry, AACC’s flagship publication.

AACC offers interested reporters a complimentary press registration for the 2010 Annual Meeting & Clinical Lab Expo which includes access to the poster presentations.  To apply for a press registration, complete and submit the Press Registration Form.  Registrations will be accepted beginning early-April 2010.  Bookmark 2010 Annual Meeting & Clinical Lab Expo for more information, including the conference program.  Journalists are also invited to contact Peter Patterson at ppatterson@aacc.org or on either of the above phone numbers for information about the meeting or AACC.
