Accelrys Technology to Enable Chemical Depiction in GenSys Software’s Electronic Laboratory Notebook
Accelrys, Inc. announced that its Accordâ„¢ Chemistry Control cheminformatics component will be used to enable chemical depiction in GenSys Software’s Electronic Laboratory Notebook (GenSys/ELNâ„¢).
Under the terms of the agreement, GenSys will embed the Accelrys Accord Chemistry Control into its ELN software, enhancing the electronic notebook with high-quality depiction of chemical structures. The GenSys/ELN lets researchers maximize productivity by moving beyond the limitations of paper-based notebooks through the ability to create, review, organize, share, discuss and archive laboratory records and associated data. Researchers can also forward entries to be witnessed and signed electronically using embedded digital signatures.
“GenSys Software is committed to integrating our enterprise research platform with all of the best scientific software technologies available to the market,” said Thomas Williams, GenSys’ CEO. “The Accelrys Accord Chemistry Control met our standards of being secure, powerful and easy to use. We were impressed at how seamlessly the Accelrys component integrated with our software. We feel most of our chemistry based customers will want to deploy this new functionality immediately.”
“Accelrys strives to offer solutions to the market’s needs and partnering with companies of GenSys’ caliber lets us do so more efficiently,” said Mahesh Krishnamurthy, Accelrys’ senior vice president of corporate development. “Our Accord components provide chemical perception capabilities that can be readily integrated into professional software applications, such as ELNs, or even systems powering laboratory instruments,” he added.
