ACD/Labs Releases Version 9.0 of Software

Advanced Chemistry Development, Inc., (ACD/Labs) is pleased to announce the release of their version 9.0 software, marking 11 years of ongoing software development, and providing deeper integration between various analytical, chemical, nomenclature, and physicochemical modules to help enable efficient information exchange and communication at the enterprise level.

As part of our commitment to provide high-quality solutions and ensure our products remain relevant year after year, our software is regularly updated to drive forward our user’s research and developments efforts. We are committed to helping advance chemical research and help companies get their products to market faster, while providing the highest level of technical excellence in our software.

With the unveiling of version 9.0 come a multitude of enhancements over previous releases. We have now introduced full compatibility with the InChI protocol, making it possible to produce unique alphanumeric string representations for chemical compounds that will facilitate the communication of molecular structures electronically. There has also been substantial improvement in NMR verification, assignment, and multiplet analysis. Our new ACD/Structure Design Suite has been introduced to help chemists rapidly identify structural modifications to enable the design of compounds with improved molecular physical properties. Our solubility predictor software, ACD/Solubility DB, has also been upgraded with an enhanced prediction algorithm, improving the accuracy of predictions and enabling the training of the algorithm using experimental solubility data to make future predictions even more accurate. ACD/Name, our expert nomenclature tool, now has the capacity to generate IUPAC names in both German and French, helping companies worldwide generate accurate and consistent chemical names.

Antony Williams, VP and Chief Science Officer for ACD/Labs, adds, “ACD/Labs’ product management and development teams are made up of scientists and information technology specialists who derive true enjoyment from providing solutions for scientists and IT teams around the world. Version to version we continue to innovate, challenge the limitations of performance of our algorithms, and deliver improvements to our users worldwide. This latest release will demonstrate our continued commitment to science, to listening to our user base, and to providing capabilities that may help to redefine the expectations of scientific software.”
