Agilent Technologies’ T&M Toolkit 2.0 with test automation enables industry’s fastest measurement sequencing, results analysis

Agilent Technologies Inc. announced the Agilent T&M Toolkit version 2.0 with Test Automation, which provides the industry’s fastest method of sequencing measurements and analyzing results, and is significantly easier to use than off-the-shelf test executive software. The new functionality easily automates instrument control and measurement sequences for design validation and prototype testing without using complex and often expensive test executives.

“T&M Toolkit 2.0 provides the quickest and easiest way to gather measurement data, control instruments, create test sequences, generate results and build customized applications in a Microsoft environment,” said Mark Pierpoint, vice president of Agilent’s Measurement and Analysis Software Group. “T&M developers will benefit from greater test flexibility and faster analysis.”

The Agilent T&M Toolkit 2.0 makes it easy for engineers to create textual programs for Visual Studio(r) in a fully integrated, consistent test and measurement environment for multiple software languages. T&M Toolkit 2.0 adds new functionality to existing instrument connection tools, I/O monitoring and driver wizards, specialized test and measurement math, and graphs for creating applications in Visual Studio. New features of T&M Toolkit 2.0 with Test Automation allow engineers to:

  • Create tests using built-in branching logic, limit checking and debugging.
  • Automatically capture test results in XML format, easily export them to Excel, or analyze them instantly using automatically generated control charts and histograms.
  • Quickly control and automate measurements by sequencing SCPI commands, VEE code, any Microsoft .NET language code (including VB .NET, Managed C++ and C#), VXIplug&play, and IVI-COM drivers.

Agilent T&M Software Tools

The Agilent T&M Toolkit 2.0 suite of open component-based test and measurement software tools offers an easy-to-use interface that helps engineers boost productivity, reduce costs and accelerate time to market. Last year, Agilent announced support for both Microsoft(r) Visual Studio .NET and Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003. The Test Automation can function with or without Visual Studio .NET.
