American College of Forensic Examiners And VCampus Expedite Development of New Online Homeland Security Certification Programs
The American College of Forensic Examiners (ACFEI), the world’s largest professional forensic organization, dedicated to the continued advancement of forensic examination and consultation, and VCampus Corporation (NASDAQ:VCMP), a provider of comprehensive e-Learning publishing and hosting services to corporations, government agencies, associations and higher education organizations, today announced an accelerated plan to develop an online version of their popular certification program for professionals working in a field related to homeland security. The course, originally scheduled as a six month development project, will now be completed in three months, due to increased development resources being made available for this project.
Today’s reality is that qualified professionals, working in a field related to homeland security, with a variety of specializations are highly sought after by both government agencies and private industry. This growing demand for highly trained individuals led ACFEI to create the Certification in Homeland Security program. With a Certification Board made up of our country’s foremost Homeland Security experts, and five different levels of certification, VCampus and ACFEI believe it is fast becoming an extremely prized credential.
The first three levels of certification require an increasing level of professional accomplishment and formal education. A rigorous evaluation process, overseen by a board comprised of 27 outstanding experts in Homeland Security, independently evaluates and determines the earned level of certification. It is only after each successive level has been reached, that candidates can be considered for the most senior levels of certification, CHS Level IV and CHS Level V, which require additional training and testing. It is these two most advanced programs that are being developed as online programs.
Level IV, Incident Command Management and Terrorism, focuses on the importance of incident management and its challenges as well as an in-depth analysis and review of the domestic and international terrorist groups that may pose a threat. Level V, CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and High Yield Explosives) Preparedness is a detailed look at catastrophic events and the medical, physiological and personnel management considerations inherent in such disasters. The lead subject matter expert for the online program is Lieutenant Colonel Alicia Tate-Nadeau. Lt. Colonel Tate-Nadeau is the Director of the Office of Public Safety Affairs for the Illinois National Guard and Commander of the 44th Chemical Battalion. She has also served as Chief of the Weapons of Mass Destruction Domestic Preparedness Division of the U.S. Army Reserve Command at Fort McPherson, Georgia, and Commander of the 5th Weapons of Mass Destruction Civil Support Team of the Illinois Army National Guard.
“The Certification in Homeland Security is the fastest growing certification we have ever offered. We are providing critical cross-training that allows for the development of effective, on-demand teams that are ready to respond if needed. These are professionals who want to be ready if they are needed,” said Brent McCoy, Chief Association Officer, ACFEI.
“Just look at the target audience for this certification,” says Nat Kannan, Chairman and CEO of VCampus Corporation. “There are nine million trained veterans under the age of 55, three million trained firefighters and protective services professionals. By providing an online certification program, we provide a mechanism for quickly and efficiently credentialing large numbers of professionals to be able to apply their training in a time of national emergency.”
