Bio-Rad Integrates University of Wisconsin-Madison Technology into KnowItAll
HERCULES, CA – December 17, 2008 – Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE: BIO and BIOb), a multinational manufacturer and distributor of life science research and clinical diagnostic products, announced today the addition of University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Automatic Filtering of NMR Spectra (AFNS) into its KnowItAll® Informatics System, Metabolomics Edition. This processing tool helps researchers identify significant features in complex spectra and includes a rolling binning algorithm, multiple bin widths, and t-statistic-based filtering.
“The integration of the AFNS technology into the KnowItAll platform allows researchers to more easily process and analyze experimental NMR data,” said Bio-Rad’s Informatics Division General Manager Gregory M. Banik, Ph.D. “We are proud to have partnered with the University of Wisconsin-Madison in these endeavors that further advance our metabolomics platform.”
“AFNS is a convenient tool for identifying significant peaks in complex 1D NMR spectra. We are pleased with the seamless integration of AFNS and the KnowItAll system” said Ian Lewis, NMR Researcher at University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Bio-Rad’s KnowItAll Informatics System offers fully integrated software solutions that cover the full range of steps from raw data processing to biomarker identification. By combining spectroscopic, cheminformatics, and chemometrics tools with a resource of metabolic pathways, KnowItAll allows researchers to analyze and manage clinical/biological data in the search for relevant biomarkers.
