Bioimagene, Inc. and Stone Bond Technologies to Integrate Digital Pathology Solution and LIMS for Increased Automation of Lab Processes

Houston, Texas and Cupertino, CA – August 15, 2006 – BioImagene, Inc. and Stone Bond Technologies today announced that they have teamed together to integrate their products to be able to allow users seamless connectivity between Stone Bond’s EE-LIMS system and BioImagene’s digital pathology platform that includes SIMS, TissueMine and CellMine. Integration of LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) and digital pathology systems that perform image analysis and archiving will allow pathology labs to further automate processes that ultimately provide more time for running tests and reduce time spent on administrative tasks.

Integration of Stone Bond and BioImagene technologies will allow users to save time by having the ability to automatically associate patient data stored in EE-LIMS to images generated by tests on patient tissue. Once linked, users may perform data analysis on the images using installed algorithms.

“We are very happy to work with Stone Bond Technologies. Working with them fits into our strategy of offering the pathology lab more integration of everyday processes”, said Mohan Uttarwar, CEO of BioImagene.

“We are proud to be working with BioImagene, a leader in imaging software. Our partnership will result in several integrated solutions for our LIMS and BioImagene’s imaging software packages. These solutions will make pathology data easily accessible together with patients’ demographic data”, said Antonio Szabo, CEO Stone Bond Technologies.

Integration of BioImagene and Stone Bond’s technologies will allow for better management of the huge amounts of data generated in the lab. Benefits include easy querying and retrieving of images and associated data as well as the ability to add images to printed reports generated from the LIMS.

“In the past, image analysis systems were often disconnected from other processes and were rarely integrated with LIMS, which is the backbone of the pathology lab. Integration of Stone Bond’s EE-LIMS with BioImagene’s digital pathology solution will save time and make it easy to perform analysis on patient images”, said Ron Zimmerman, a partner at MediGen Group LLC.
