Borealis Selects Symyx Software and Tools to Maximize Return on New R&D Investments
SANTA CLARA, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Symyx Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:SMMX) today announced that Borealis, a leading provider of innovative, value creating plastics solutions, has selected Symyx Software and Tools as part of a strategic plan to maximize the return on research and development investments. Borealis and Symyx will work together to bring Symyx scientific software and R&D workflows into Borealis laboratory facilities around the world. Symyx Software will become standard within Borealis R&D for design, execution and analysis of experimentation and laboratory operations, data and instrument management.
The agreement involves all of Borealis InnoTech (Borealis’s multi-site R&D organization) and a range of Symyx Software, Tools and services. Terms of the deal include:
- the implementation of Symyx Software to support both high-throughput research and conventional research methodologies.
- the delivery of a Symyx Tools Parallel Pressure Reactor (PPR) workflow for Borealis’s Innovation Centre in Porvoo (Finland) and
- a joint technology development program for a polymer development system at Borealis’s Innovation Centre in Linz (Austria).
