BS-MS Scientific Associate – in vivo Pharmacology -Aging Group

The Aging group in Cambridge is looking for a highly motivated Associate-level scientist to join an interdisciplinary team dedicated to work in preclinical pharmacology models of human disease, with a primary focus on diseases associated with aging and frailty. The group is responsible for validating targets implicated in diseases caused by pathway deregulation, and testing drug candidates that modulate these pathways in disease models.

The successful candidate will take part in:

– Conducting in vivo and ex vivo experiments on animal models of diseases, including colony maintenance of genetic disease models, development and induction of disease models, delivery of candidate drug regimens, making clinical observations, and harvesting and analyzing samples for the evaluation of drug levels, histology, and molecular endpoints.

– Assist in developing and implementing of new animal models and assays

– Planning and performing Pharmacokinetic (PK)/Pharmacodynamic (PD) studies

– Planning, execution, documentation and analyses of experiments

– Some knowledge of biochemistry (protein and RNA assays) and/or histology is desirable
