Business Analyst
The Business Analyst will be responsible for working with customers/end users to understand their business processes and gather functional requirements in order to configure and customize their new LIMS systems. The BA will work with both customer stakeholders and internal resources to insure best solution is delivered to meet customer requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Gather, develop, and document functional business requirements.
- Demonstrate standard solution functionality. Facilitate the discussion with clients about standard functionality, configuration, and custom development to help define their ideal LIMS solution.
- Document business requirements for system development, software integration, and external database interfaces in a Functional Requirement Document (FRS).
- Collaborate with Application Designer and Application Programmers to implement solutions.
- Work closely with Project Management on project issues, concerns, deliveries, and completion estimation. Providing input to the Project Manager on any change orders that may be requested by customer.
- Execute the Acceptance Test Plan (ATP) with the customer, and document all exceptions, and coordinate a resolution plan with the Designer/Application Programmers.
Requirements:
- BS in Scientific related fields, computer science, or related work experience
- Min of 3 years of experience
- Prior LIMS experience
- Understanding of laboratory environments and workflow.
- Prior experience performing business analysis and/or process re-engineering
- Must possess strong technical documentation skills
- Must possess strong communication skills both written and verbal
- This position is remote with about 50% travel
