ChemAxon Announces Free Calculations Plugins Access Online and Opens Technical Support Web Forum

ChemAxon, a software solutions provider for biotechnology, announced open online access to its suite of predictive plugins for molecular characterization via the ChemAxon website. The announcement coincides with the launch of a Technical and User Support Forum and other online resources.

As a plugin for Marvin, ChemAxon’s Java based chemical editor and viewer, Calculator Plugins are a growing range of structure based prediction tools to give chemists useful data in characterizing and understanding molecular structures. Although under continual development, the current range of plugins include: pKa, logP, logD, polar surface area (PSA), charge distribution and polarizability predictions.

ChemAxon’s Calculator Plugins are based on an open plugin format allowing users to create their own prediction tools which can immediately be called across networks by Marvin and other ChemAxon tools, such as Screen and Reactor. To try ChemAxon’s Calculator Plugins, website visitors should visit any of the Marvin implementations across the site, such as at http://www.chemaxon.com/marvin/sketch/demo.html and draw or open any structure file and call the calculation required.

The introduction of ChemAxon’s Technical Support Forum provides an additional channel for scientific and technical users to review and request technical support. As well as addressing many of the common issues faced by users, expert moderators will be on hand to provide specialist scientific and technical advice to forum members. To explore the Technical Support Forum please visit www.chemaxon.com/forum/index.jsp
