Chemtech presents novelties every day throughout the Rio Oil & Gas

From September 11 to 14, over 600 exhibitors, representing more than 20 countries, and over 30 thousand visitors are expected at Riocentro, in Rio de Janeiro, where the event will take place.  Chemtech will be there for the sixth consecutive edition.

 

Solutions – In Pavilion 4, stand D10, the company will be presenting all its expertise in ENV (Environmental System), POS (Positioning System), RIMS (Riser Mooring System), leak detection, simulation, FEED, automation and control, risk analysis, and operational intelligence.

 

Chemtech professionals will also be available to present all other solutions and tools that the company implements in the process and consumer-goods industries.

 

Throughout the event, visitors will be able to see the FPSO BR P-57 model.  Chemtech took part in a consortium with companies Aker Kvaerner and Kromav, under the leadership of Petrobras, and was responsible for the basic project of this platform, which will be one of the world’s largest oil floating production, storage, and off-loading units in the world.

 

Novelties – every day, throughout the fair, something new will be happening at the Chemtech stand.  On the 11th, at 4 p.m., the 1st Chemtech/ControlSoft Process Control Challenge will take place – it is a competition among engineering students from IME (Military Engineering Institute), UFRJ (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro), UFF (Fluminense Federal University), and Uerj (Rio de Janeiro State University).  On September 12 and 13 it will be time for the 1st National Chemtech/PHOENICS CFD Challenge, when university students from all over Brazil (UFRJ, IME, UFF, UFMG (Federal University of Minas Gerais), UFU (Uberlandia Federal University), Unicamp (University of Campinas), USP (University of São Paulo), UFSCar (University of São Carlos), ITA (Technical Institute of Aviation), UFBA (Federal University of Bahia), UFRGS (Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul), UFSC (Federal University of Santa Catarina)) will be competing to show who is the best in computational fluid-dynamic simulation.

Also on the 13th, at 7p.m., the children’s percussion band from the samba school Mangueira – of which Chemtech is a supporting-partner – will be performing in a show.

 

On the closing day of the fair, September 14, we will have the award ceremony of both Challenges.  Jackie Silva, Brazilian beach volleyball veteran and gold medalist in the Atlanta Olympic Games, will also be present on this day at the Chemtech stand.  Jackie is sponsored by Chemtech and will be giving out autographs and taking pictures with fans from 3 to 8 p.m.
