Chemtech will increase its market share in Asia in 2007

During an interview for a newspaper of the trade and industry area, Chemtech CEO Luiz Eduardo Rubião declared that the company will enhance its participation in South-East Asia this coming year.

Chemtech has recently signed a contract in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand for the development of a management system for three refineries.  This agreement has been responsible for a 10% increase in the company’s turnover this year.

According to Rubião, in the first quarter of 2007 this agreement will be extended to encompass around five other refineries located in these countries.  The investment will result in a 5% increase in the turnover of Chemtech.

This is not the first time Chemtech is involved in projects in the region.  In 2004 it concluded the implementation of an operational intelligence oriented data visualization system using software XHQ.  At the time, it covered 25 refineries in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, and involved Japan and Argentina as well.

As the interview shows, Chemtech clients – such as Petrobras and Suzano Petroquímica – are also planning to expand their market share in Asia since they believe in that region’s significance for the business.  Thus, Brazilian companies will be able to even the balance of trades between Brazil and some Asian countries.
