Clinical Laboratory Management Association’s ThinkLab ’10 Surpasses Attendance Goals

Conference attendance increases by 30% and draws more than 30 new exhibitors

CHICAGO, June 29 /PRNewswire/ — The Clinical Laboratory Management Association (CLMA) is pleased to announce the success of ThinkLab ’10, the association’s annual meeting, with a 30% increase in attendance and more than 30 new exhibitors.

“ThinkLab ’10 surpassed our expectations on all fronts. With robust educational offerings and a packed Exhibit Hall, the event provided attendees with a top-notch professional development opportunity and the chance to meet industry-leading vendors,” said C. Anne Pontius, CLMA president. “The post-ThinkLab energy and enthusiasm has been infectious, and I look forward to the continued evolution of our programs and offerings through the rest of this year and beyond.”

ThinkLab ’10, which was sponsored by Orchard Software, marked the introduction of the CLMA Body of Knowledge for Clinical Laboratory Management, representing the comprehensive set of skills necessary to be a competent laboratory manager. The content of the Body of Knowledge for Clinical Laboratory Management supported the educational offering at ThinkLab ’10 and will drive future CLMA educational programming.

Highlights from the post-conference attendee evaluation include:

“This is one of the most informative laboratory meetings that I have been to. There are lots of seminars to choose from and every one that I went to had information that I could take back to my lab and use. Not once did I feel like I was wasting company money!”

“CLMA ThinkLab is a wonderful opportunity to ‘recharge your batteries.’ It provides many avenues for networking, and the educational programs are excellent. I wish all my managers could attend!”

CLMA will continue the tradition at ThinkLab ’11, taking place May 2011 at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Maryland. Visit www.clma.org for additional details.
